Kathalijne Visser studied Zootechnics in Wageningen and obtained her PhD in Utrecht on the character of horses (Horsonality). She worked for more than fifteen years at Wageningen Livestock and Research Center as an animal welfare researcher.
As a lecturer in Human-Animal Interactions at Aeres Hogeschool Dronten, Visser conducts research into the interaction between people and animals, with the aim of improving animal welfare. The focus is mainly on dogs and horses. Current themes being worked on are animals in care and safety and animals in sports and relaxation.
