Dorien graduated in Veterinary Medicine at the University of Utrecht and obtained an MSc in Animal Sciences at the University of Wageningen.
After ending her career as a rugby player for the Dutch Women's Rugby Sevens team, Dorien worked as a Technical Account Manager at Vion. In 2020 she started working as a lecturer and researcher in the field of sustainable livestock farming at Van Hall Larenstein University of Applied Sciences. In addition, Dorien is specializing to become European specialist Veterinary Public Health at the ECVPH.
