M. (Maaike) Dijkhorst MSc

Maaike graduated as a veterinarian specialized in companion animals at the University of Utrecht. During her studies she founded VetInvolved; a student initiative that promotes dialogue on animal welfare and ethics within veterinary medicine. She currently works as a veterinarian. She focuses on the relationship between owner and animal, and on improving the welfare of companion animals in general. Maaike has a wide interest in the social debate on animals, human-animal relationships, sustainability and ethics.
