Liesbeth Bolhuis is an associate professor in the Adaptation Physiology chair group at Wageningen University & Research. She studied Zootechnics (Animal Science) at the same university, where she also obtained her PhD for research into the personalities of pigs.
Liesbeth conducts research and education in the field of behaviour, welfare and physiology of farm animals. Her work ranges from fundamental studies, such as research into animal emotions, to applied research that contributes to innovative solutions for animal welfare and health problems in livestock farming. In addition, she is currently chair of the KNAW Dobberke Foundation for Comparative Psychology.
