Care of Young Animals
The mortality of young animals, such as piglets, calves, lambs, chicks, kittens, and puppies, can be reduced, although it may never be completely eliminated. This is stated by the Council on Animal Affairs (RDA) in the perspective 'Care for the young animal – towards a greater focus on individual animals animal and less mortality,' which it has written at the request of the Minister of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality. There are actions that can be taken, both in the short and long term. In this report the council provides several recommendations.
